Honors Transdisciplinary Praxis Minor Requirements
The Honors Transdisciplinary Praxis Minor requires the completion of 16 credits of Honors College (UH) courses + 14 elective credits for a total of at least 30 credits. Completion requirements are detailed below.
Required Courses (16 credit hours)
All of the following courses must be completed:
- UH 1604: Introduction to Honors Quantitative and Qualitative Research Practices (3)
- UH 2604: Intermediate Honors Quantitative and Qualitative Research Practices (3)
- UH 3504: Topics in Honors Transdisciplinary Seminars (3)
- UH 3504 must be taken once to satisfy requirements for the minor, but may be taken twice with different subject matter to satisfy elective credits for the minor.
- UH 4504: Topics in Honors Discovery and Innovation Studios (3) + UH 4514: Honors SuperStudio (1)
- UH 4504 plus corequisite UH 4514 must be taken once to satisfy requirements for the minor, but may be taken twice with different subject matter to satisfy elective credits for the minor.
- UH 4504: Topics in Honors Discovery and Innovation Studios (3)
- UH 4504 as a standalone course (without the UH 4514 corequisite) must be taken once to satisfy requirements for the minor, but may be taken twice with different subject matters to satisfy elective credits for the minor.
Electives (14 credit hours)
Choose from among the following options to complete at least 14 credits:
- UH 3504: Topics in Honors Transdisciplinary Seminars (3)
- UH 3604: Designing Protocols for Honors Quantitative and Qualitative Research (3)
- UH 3614: Data Collection/Analysis for Honors Quantitative and Qualitative Research (3)
- UH 4504: Topics in Honors Discovery and Innovation Studios (3) + UH 4514: Honors SuperStudio (1)
- UH 4504: Topics in Honors Discovery and Innovation Studios (3)
- Other honors-eligible study outside the student’s primary major: Departmental “H” courses, independent studies, graduate-level courses, and faculty-student agreements (maximum of 6 credits)
- Honors-eligible experiential learning from the following options: undergraduate research, study abroad, approved professional experiences, UH 4104: Honors Student Teaching Practicum, or UH 3204: Honors Service Learning (maximum of 6 credits)
Notes
Important notes about the Honors Transdisciplinary Praxis Minor:
- There are no prerequisites for any of the required or elective courses in this minor.
- In order to graduate with this minor, students must have a 3.3 overall GPA and maintain good standing in the Honors College.
- Students must obtain a GPA of 2.0 or better in the courses used to satisfy the requirements of this minor.
