A longer list of awards is available through the National Collegiate Honors Council. Not all of these awards require a university endorsement, but students are encouraged to use resources available to them to put forward a competitive application.

It is recommended that students interested in any of these awards have a conversation with Christina McIntyre well in advance of the application process.

Why is the application process so long?

Applications have a long application timeframe to allow time for the development of application materials, adapting an iterative process of conversation, writing, reviewing, conversation, reading, revision, revision, and more revision. Having strong letters of recommendation from faculty who know the candidate well is essential. Students are encouraged to foster meaningful professional relationships with faculty through research, projects, design teams, academic teams, department, college, and university engagement.

How can I prepare to be competitive for these awards?

One of the best preparations for these nationally competitive awards is to apply for an Honors College Odyssey Fellowship which is modeled after the national application process and integrates the development of a faculty mentor.

Additional Study Abroad Scholarships
