Hey everyone! My name is Samantha Benson, and I am the engineering representative on the Honors College Student Council. I am a junior studying Materials Science and Engineering, with a focus in polymers. At Tech, I have been an HRC apartment fellow, on research teams, and on intramural soccer and battleship teams. Outside of Tech, I have studied abroad in China and Ireland, interned, and have led toy collections for children in hospitals. On the council, I hope to enable students to get more involved in the Honors community through our events and reach beyond their degrees through opportunities such as research, studying abroad, and community service.

When I am not running around the Ag Quad or my lab in Whittemore you can find me playing intramural sports, trail running, hiking, spending time with friends, and drinking massive amounts of Mill Mountain Coffee. I am so thankful that I get to serve my fellow Honors Hokies on the HCSC and am happy to answer any questions you might have!
