PGS and an Honors Laureate Diploma
The following details how the credits earned through the Presidential Global Scholars Program apply to the credit requirements of the original Honors Laureate Diploma for students who entered the Honors College in Spring 2023 or earlier. The original HLD requires at least 30 total credits across four elements. Elements Two, Three, and Four each have a six-credit minimum requirement.
PGS provides 20 of the 30 credits required of the original Honors Laureate Diploma. Up to six of the remaining credits may come from applying a faculty-student agreement (FSA) to the two required Italian courses. Note that PGS alone does NOT meet the 6- credit minimum requirement for Element Two.
Element One: Honors College Curriculum
Credits Earned: UH 1504 (2), UH 25XX(3)
Element Two: Disciplinary Depth
Credits Earned: UH 25XX (3)
Element Three: Transdisciplinary Capabilities
Credits Earned: 25XX(3), UH 3204 (3)
3 to 6 FSA credits would likely count here
Element Four: Undergraduate Research & Guided Experiential Learning
Credits Earned: UH 25XX(3), Study Abroad honors credits (3)
